GEPA Statement

The West Kentucky Educational Cooperative (WKEC) receives federal funds for various educational programs to support and enhance our services. As a recipient of federal funding, we comply with the General Education Provisions Act (GEPA), which is a federal law that governs how these funds are administered.

Our commitment to transparency and accountability aligns with the principles set forth in GEPA. We ensure that federal funds are used responsibly and effectively to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all individuals.

Under GEPA, we adhere to the following provisions:

1. Nondiscrimination: We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in our educational programs and activities, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and other applicable laws.

2. Accessibility: We strive to make our educational programs and services accessible to individuals with disabilities, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

3. Use of Funds: We utilize federal funds appropriately and in accordance with the purposes outlined in the grant agreements or program guidelines.

4. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA): We protect the privacy of student education records, as mandated by FERPA, and ensure the confidentiality of such records.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we regularly assess and evaluate our programs to measure their effectiveness and make data-driven decisions to enhance educational outcomes.
