A great day of learning at WKEC! Educators tackled an interactive escape game during IEP Development Training while our Word Power: Igniting Vocabulary in Every Classroom Learning Sprint kicked off. Building skills today to make an even greater impact tomorrow!
Science teachers worked hard creating phenomena bundles for the Kentucky Atlas of Phenomena, a KDE resource to support teachers in using local phenomena to create anchoring phenomenon lessons aligned with the KAS for science. Such lessons engage students by using real-world, authentic science phenomena that students can observe and wonder — asking their own questions to drive learning of the important big science ideas they need to learn.
Today at WKEC, Cohort 3 Co-Teaching Transformation Initiative teams came together to grow their impact in the classroom! Educators explored powerful co-teaching structures, Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) strategies, and collaborative planning practices to create more inclusive learning experiences for every student.
